Lockdown Lift Notice: The Royal City Studios Recording Studio Is Now Open

As lockdown restrictions slowly begin to ease, Royal City Studios is happy to announce that our recording studio is now open for any and all recording projects.

In keeping with physical distancing precautions, studio occupancy is limited to a maximum of five people:

  • Four people in the live recording room, which provides enough room for individual physical distancing
  • One person in the isolation booth.

Also, in keeping with physical distancing precautions, our rehearsal rooms remain closed at this time, meaning those in the recording studio will be working in an isolated environment.

To book your studio time:

Please note: Well before lockdown restrictions and business closures happened across the Guelph region, Royal City Studios maintained a clean facility with a regular cleaning schedule that included disinfecting counters and surfaces.

When Ontario Premier Doug Ford declared a state of emergency on March 17th, 2020 and businesses were mandated to close to help contain and prevent the spread of COVID-19, Royal City Studios immediately closed its doors but continued its cleaning and disinfecting regimen. And throughout lockdown, cleaners worked separately to maintain complete non-contact.

At no time before or during the current crisis has any person entered Royal City Studios who tested positive for COVID-19. Additionally, Royal City Studios’ four fully accessible washrooms include anti-bacterial soap dispensers, and always have.

As much as we all wonder when all this will be over, no one knows when lockdown restrictions may return, just as no one knows whether the projected second COVID-19 wave will materialize in the coming fall and winter.

What we can tell you is that the lockdown window is lifted on our recording studio today.

So, if you’ve been writing songs during lockdown or have a cover that you’d like to record, we encourage you to take advantage of the window that’s open now and book your recording session today.

If you have any questions or concerns whatsoever, please don’t hesitate to reach out to us.

We’re here to help support you while you focus on what matters most.

Your music.

We’d also like to take this moment to thank everyone who have so generously given of their time during these difficult days to help keep Royal City Studios going. It hasn’t been easy. But Royal City Studios was fundamentally founded on a love of music and to provide every musician in the area with easy and affordable access to top-flight recording and rehearsal facilities, and as a place for artists to connect and share skills for the mutual growth of all. Those who have helped keep us going embody this core RCS spirit, and we can’t thank you enough.
